Alexander Smirnov is a Russian Pair skater. Smirnov partnered with Yuko Kawaguchi in the spring of 2006. They are the 2008 & 2009 Russian Champions, the 2009 European silver medalists, and the 2009 World Bronze Medalists.
He previously competed with partners Alexandra Danilova and Ekaterina Vasileva. Vasileva & Smirnov placed sixth at the 2006 World Junior Figure Skating Championships.
