Anett Pötzsch (born June 3 1960) is a ladies skater who represented the GDR (East Germany). Pötzsch was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt, GDR (today renamed Chemnitz, Germany). She is the 1980 Olympic champion, a 2-time world champion, and a 4-time European champion. She was coached by Jutta Müller.
Pötzsch married Axel Witt, the brother of Katarina Witt. The couple has a child named Claudia Rauschenbauch, who is a German pairs skating champion. Her second husband was Axel Rauschenbach, a former German champion in Pair skating, who became the stepfather of Claudia.
After retiring from amateur competition, Pötzsch was interested in participating in professional shows, but this was not possible due to the political system in her home country at the time. She eventually became a coach in her hometown of Chemnitz, an international judge for figure skating, and an ISU technical specialist.
Her first name is sometimes (incorrectly) spelled "Annett."
