Vera Wang (b. 1949) is an American fashion designer, who competed in junior pairs skating with partner James Stuart as a teenager. Although she is best known for her wedding gowns, she has also designed skating costumes for many elite-level skaters.

She began skating at age 8, winning regional championships by age 12.[1] She teamed up with James Stuart, and together they competed twice at the United States Figure Skating Championships, winning 5th in juniors in 1968. She was coached by Sonya Dunfield.[2] After 1969, James Stuart chose to focus on singles skating, and Vera Wang went to college, eventually pursuing a career in fashion.

In 2009, Vera Wang was inducted into the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame. [1]
